The NSW Government has asked IPART to undertake the review to assist in developing consistent government policy covering tenure and rental matters for all users of the sites.On 13 May 2009, Telstra wrote to IPART seeking clarification on an aspect of IPART's review of rental arrangements for Crown land communication tower sites which was completed in October 2005. While any decisions on the implementation of IPART's recommendations are a matter for the NSW Government, IPART is able to provide some guidance on IPART's intention when it made its recommendations. Therefore, IPART has provided Telstra with a letter clarifying its recommendation to the NSW Government on the rental fees which should apply to sites in the medium density category.
