IPART has released its draft report on the maximum amounts for early termination fees to commence on 1 March 2014. This will limit the fees that retailers can charge customers for breaking their electricity supply contracts early. See Draft Report and Media Release.
The draft report sets out the Tribunal’s draft decision on the cap of the base early termination fee and seeks stakeholder comment.
We invite all interested stakeholders to make submissions to the draft report. Submissions are due on 18 November 2013. We are also holding a public hearing on Monday 4 November at our office in Sydney. All interested parties are welcome to attend but we ask that you register in advance. Further information about the hearing and how to register is provided below.
