The Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) covers an area of approximately 20,000 square kilometres, centred by Dubbo and Dunedoo, on the land of the Wiradjuri, Wailwan and Kamilaroi people.
The REZ is intended to facilitate, through the construction of new transmission infrastructure, the connection of new renewable generation to the NSW electricity grid.
ACEREZ Partnership (ACEREZ) is a consortium of three separate organisations, Acciona Concesiones, Cobra, and Endeavour Energy and they submitted an application to the Minister for Energy for a transmission operator’s licence.
We have completed our review of the ACEREZ Partnership application for a transmission operator’s licence. We presented our package to the Minister for Energy in September 2024. The package included our final report to the Minister and our recommended licence.
We conducted a public consultation process including consultation on the licence application and on the proposed licence conditions. More information is provided in our final report to the Minister.
The Minster for Energy considered our recommendation and granted ACEREZ Partnership a transmission operator’s licence with the conditions we proposed on 19 September 2024.
