IPART is undertaking an independent market monitoring review of the childcare sector market. We are looking at:
- areas where there are childcare supply shortages or where there are higher barriers to parents participating in the workforce because of the affordability or accessibility of childcare, and
- the state of the childcare sector, including workforce, pay and conditions and quality standards in the childcare sector.
As a first step, we issued a methodology paper setting out our proposed metrics and performance measures for assessing supply shortages, affordability, and accessibility barriers, as well as the state of the workforce, pay and conditions and quality standards. We received 8 submissions on our proposed methodology.
