The Chair of IPART, Carmel Donnelly PSM has announced that Tribunal member Sandra Gamble has resigned and will be leaving IPART in April. Sandra has accepted a new, recently announced, role as independent Chair of Marinus Link.
“Ms Gamble was appointed as a member of the Tribunal for five years in 2019 and I would like to thank her for her service to NSW as a Tribunal member and pay tribute to her significant contribution,” Ms Donnelly said.
“Sandra has made an important contribution to a wide range of reviews and decisions, including reform of the way IPART regulates water businesses and IPART’s approach to considering climate change in our work.
“In particular, I acknowledge and thank her for her work as the Chair of two delegated Tribunal committees related to electricity network regulation and energy savings schemes.”
“With a background in engineering, regulation and government, Sandra brought to IPART over 20 years of executive and board level experience across the public, private and for-purpose sectors. Her extensive knowledge and experience of water, energy and transport infrastructure and markets, have been extremely valuable to the Tribunal.”
Ms Gamble said she was pleased to have been part of IPART’s work to help people access safe and reliable services at a fair price.
“Working with IPART has been a privilege and one of the highlights of my career,” she said.
“Tribunal Members and the Secretariat consistently produce great quality work across many sectors for the benefit of New South Wales with independence and integrity.”
Ms Donnelly said Sandra Gamble’s last day as a Tribunal member will be 18 April 2024.
“While she will be missed at IPART, we wish her well as she moves to the next chapter of her career,” Ms Donnelly said.
