This report sets out our recommendations to the Minister for Water for our 2023-24 review of the Water NSW operating licence.
We have recommended terms and conditions for the new operating licence that reflect customers’ preferences and needs. This is particularly important for customers of monopoly suppliers such as Water NSW where customers cannot change their provider.
Our key recommendations for the operating licence address:
- organisational management systems
- performance standards
- raw water quality for drinking water suppliers
- WaterNSW’s obligations to its customers
- catchment and river health
- water planning and climate risk readiness
- data and information services
- promoting cooperative relationships with stakeholders
- other administrative matters.
