IPART held an online public hearing on 17 November 2020 on WAMC’s proposed water management and Water NSW’s rural bulk water prices from 1 July 2021

On 30 June 2020, IPART received pricing proposals from the Water Administration Ministerial Corporation (WAMC) for the review of water management prices, and from Water NSW for the review of rural bulk water services in NSW from 1 July 2021.

On 15 September 2020, IPART released two issues papers which identify key issues and themes for each price review.

On 17 November 2020, we held a joint online public hearing as part of our stakeholder consultation. The public hearing provided opportunity for the public and stakeholders to have their say or ask questions on these water price reviews.

The online public hearing had two sessions:

  • Session A for the WAMC price review
  • Session B for the Water NSW Rural price review.

Each session included brief presentations on the pricing proposals and outcomes of our two issues papers, before addressing stakeholder questions and comments on these matters. Key themes that we discussed include what services are being delivered and what is driving costs, how costs are shared between customers and the NSW Government and how proposed prices will impact customers.
