IPART held an online public hearing on Tuesday 30 March 2021 on our draft reports for WAMC and Water NSW rural bulk water and Water NSW’s proposal on metering reform

On 16 March 2021, the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) released two draft reports on the maximum prices that Water Administration Ministerial Corporation (WAMC) and Water NSW can charge for water resource management and rural bulk water services over the next 4 years.

On Tuesday 30 March 2021, we held a joint online public hearing as part of our stakeholder consultation.  The public hearing provided opportunity for the public and stakeholders to have their say or ask questions on these water price reviews.

The online public hearing had three sessions:

  • Session A for Water NSW’s proposal on metering reform
  • Session B for the WAMC price review and draft report
  • Session C for the Water NSW Rural price review and draft report.

These sessions included brief presentations on Water NSW’s proposal on metering reform and the outcomes of our two draft reports, before addressing stakeholder questions and comments on these matters. For sessions B and C, we discussed our draft decisions on prices, impacts on customers, costs and cost drivers, and how costs are shared.

The presentation slides for the public hearing can be accessed here.

We will consider stakeholder feedback we received during the online public hearing in our final reports which are due to be released in June 2021.
