The NSW Government has asked IPART to examine the tariff structure and billing of bulk water charges and government cost shares of State Water's operations in the Murray-Darling Basin. IPART made recommendations having regard to the impact on State Water, NSW Office of Water, NSW Budget, statutory and policy constraints and the Commission of Audit into public sector management.
IPART is inviting stakeholders to comment on the draft recommendations for the rural water charging systems review.

This report explains our recommendations on the tariff structure and billing of bulk water charges and government cost shares of State Water’s operations in the Murray-Darling Basin.
Murray-Darling Basin Authority has written to IPART to address some of the issues raised by stakeholders as part of this review.
