IPART undertakes an annual audit of Hunter Water’s compliance with its operating licence. The 2020 audit was the third audit under the 2017-2022 operating licence.
We audited Hunter Water’s compliance with its operating licence as required by the Hunter Water Act 1991. We sought stakeholder views on Hunter Water’s performance during the 2020 audit period (1 November 2019 to 31 October 2020).
IPART initiates the operational audits annually. We sought stakeholder input on Hunter Water’s overall compliance with its licence to determine the audit scope.
Our audit interviews were held in November 2020.
We provided our 2020 audit report to the Minister Water, Property and Housing in March 2021. We require Hunter Water to report on its progress in implementing the audit recommendations by 28 May 2021.
