IPART undertakes an annual audit of Hunter Water’s compliance with its operating licence. The 2019 audit is the second audit under the 2017-2022 operating licence.
We audit Hunter Water’s compliance with its operating licence as required by the Hunter Water Act 1991. We seek stakeholder views on Hunter Water’s performance during the 2019 audit period (1 November 2018 to 31 October 2019).
IPART initiates the operational audits annually. We seek stakeholder input into Hunter Water’s overall compliance with its licence to determine the audit scope.
Our audit interviews were held in November 2019.
We provided the audit report to the Minister for Water, Property and Housing in March 2020.
Our next audit of Hunter Water's operating licence will commence in mid-2020.
