True Water DTR Pty Ltd applied for a network operator and retail supplier's licence to construct and operate a temporary wastewater treatment plant to service a new residential development located in Moss Vale (the Ashbourne scheme). The site is not currently serviced by the municipal sewerage network. The proposed scheme is in the Wingecarribee Shire Council local government area.
The proposed scheme is a temporary measure until the Moss Vale Sewage Treatment Plant’s capacity is expanded. The purpose is to facilitate release of the first stage of the development, being 178 housing lots, to market ahead of municipal sewer services becoming available.
Effluent from the interim wastewater treatment plant will be dispersed via irrigation within the nominated and DA approved Effluent Dispersal Area.
We assess each application against the criteria outlined in section 10(4) of the Water Industry Competition Act 2006 (WIC Act) to determine if the Minister should grant a licence.
The Minister granted True Water a network operator’s licence and a retail supplier’s licence on 24 October 2023.
