Catherine Hill Bay Water Utility Pty Ltd was granted a network operator’s licence (Licence Number 16_035) on 22 March 2016.
Catherine Hill Bay Water Utility Pty Ltd has applied to vary its network operator’s licence to construct, maintain and operate an 8km transfer main to discharge surplus recycled water to Central Coast Council’s Gwandalan Wastewater Treatment Plant and add end-uses for recycled water.
The Catherine Hill Bay scheme is located approximately twenty kilometres south of Newcastle on the NSW Central Coast.
To construct operate and maintain potable water, non-potable water and sewerage infrastructure for the scheme, Catherine Hill Bay Water Utility requires a Network Operator’s licence under the Water Industry Competition Act (the WIC Act).
Catherine Hill Bay Water Utility supplies recycled water from its treatment plant. The treatment plant produces recycled water from sewage collected from the Catherine Hill Bay ‘Beaches’ residential development which it provides sewerage services to. Catherine Hill Bay Water Utility also provides drinking water to the residents of the Catherine Hill Bay ‘Beaches’ residential development which is sourced from Central Coast Council. The licence was granted on 22 March 2016. Commercial operation was granted in stages on 27 October 2017, 13 December 2018 and 18 January 2019 and 2 November 2023.
Under the WIC Act IPART has a role to monitor and report on licensees’ compliance with conditions of their Licences. We report to the Minister annually on the Compliance of licensees on or before 31 October each year.
