We have completed our review of maximum fees and site occupation charging arrangements paid by the cruise industry in Sydney Harbour. The objectives of our review were to recommend maximum fees and an appropriate charging structure to:
- reflect the Port Authority’s efficient costs of providing existing services to cruise ships, and the need to maintain its commercial viability over the long-term
- encourage efficient use of cruise terminal infrastructure, and
- maintain the viability and growth of the industry.
Our final report outlines our recommended maximum site occupation charges and has been submitted for consideration to the Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight.
