This Fact Sheet summarises IPART's draft recommendations on its review of the method for determining rents for domestic waterfront tenancies in NSW. Domestic waterfront tenancies (or 'occupancies') are arrangements whereby owners of residential waterfront properties pay rent to the NSW Government to occupy and use publicly-owned submerged or reclaimed land, which is usually adjacent to their property. IPART's draft recommendations are aimed at ensuring that rents reflect market conditions and are fair to both rent payers and the broader community.
