In 2013, the NSW Government asked IPART to conduct a review of price and fee arrangements for government-funded vocational education and training under Smart and Skilled. Smart and Skilled is the NSW Government’s reform of the NSW vocational education and training system. IPART was asked to provide advice and design a methodology to determine price and fee arrangements for government-funded vocational education and training. IPART provided a draft report to the Minister for Education in July 2013 and its final report to the Minister In October 2013.
