Draft Report - Local Infrastructure Benchmark Costs - November 2013

This Draft Report sets out our preliminary estimates of benchmark costs for around 60 items of local government infrastructure, such as roads, traffic management and community facilities. The benchmark costs are intended to be used to guide councils in estimating costs for local infrastructure contributions under the new planning system for NSW. We have also looked at methods to estimate infrastructure costs when there is no benchmark, how to update the benchmarks, how to value land, how planning and environmental standards and requirements impact costs, and mechanisms for dispute resolution. We are currently considering feedback on our draft report. Our final report is due end April.
