IPART has received a terms of reference from the NSW Government asking IPART to recommend benchmark compensation rates for landholders in NSW hosting coal seam gas developments. These benchmarks are to guide landholders in negotiating compensation agreements with industry.
IPART proposes to release an issues paper in April 2015. A draft report is due by September 2015 and a final report to the Minister for Resources and Energy is due by 30 November 2015.
