Explains key findings and recommendations for increasing the use of demand management (DM) options to meet customer energy needs in NSW. Identifies 3 broad groups of DM responses—environmentally driven, network driven and retail market driven—and the barriers to and options for encouraging greater use of each type. Also discusses why DM is needed, and its costs, benefits, potential capacity and reliability.
