The Minister for Energy has asked the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal of New
South Wales (the Tribunal) to review the annual licensing fees charged to gas and electricity
businesses in the state. The Tribunal collects these fees on behalf of the government, to cover
the costs that various government agencies incur in regulating these businesses, including
administering their licences/authorisations and monitoring their compliance with licence
conditions.
