Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2016

The Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2016 (P2P Act) governs the provision of taxi and hire car services in NSW.

Under the P2P Act, the Minister for Transport and Roads may require IPART to:

• make recommendations to Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) on the number of taxi licences to be issued within a specified period within NSW;
• conduct investigations and report to the Minister recommending appropriate maximum fares for point-to-point passenger services.
